Given how insanely strict my diet is as a result of autoimmune issues picked up overseas, this is interesting data. It makes me grateful for one of the foods I can eat—the orange. Godspeed with your seasonal chores.

That's interesting, those autoimmune issues and your retained ability to tolerate oranges. One of the things well fed gut bacteria do for people is to help keep them avoid the development of things like those described here: https://www.mayoclinic.org/medical-professionals/digestive-diseases/news/food-sensitivities-may-affect-gut-barrier-function/mac-20429973. Can you, by chance, tolerate cheddar cheese or corn, too?

I spent two weeks at the Mayo Clinic and we went over the gut barrier. It is, fortunately, all the rage now, but we are still nowhere near a cure for those with more hardcore problems. It took me about 7 years to get oranges back into my diet and I am now obsessed with them. Both corn and cheese would cause devastating reactions. I’ll never be able to eat any grains or dairy again

Sounds like a (literal and figurative) pain in the ass. So, it's an actual meat and orange paleodiet for you?
