Systems Theory Again
Continuing the Dopamine-Starved, Model-Free-Reasoning-in-America Thread (II)
Systems theory — integrated with the working dopamine-starvation hypothesis1 — predicts that if we (nationally and globally) continue growing the service industries’ portion of the human economy, aggregate human reasoning and problem-solving ability will continue to decline epigenetically, and even further political, cultural, and familial division will be the result.
In this context, the economic policies recently promulgated by the 2024 DeSantis US presidential campaign make a whole lot of sense and show a whole lot of promise for multi-level problem-solving within the US.2 His economic policy statement can be relatively quickly read here, or more slowly watched and listened to here:
Applying the Bradford Hill criteria to the dopamine-starvation working hypothesis in order to determine whether or not the shift towards service industry dominance is ultimately responsible for our current cultural, political, and familial chaos is something I’m going to be working on in my spare time over the next several months.
Pretty much the same general thing aimed at as the competing and continuing Trump/MAGA campaign, but DeSantis’s narrative is more focused and much easier to follow in mind.
Also it seems the growth in Leisure and Hospitality would suggest the same decline you mention.
